Center referees examines the cards for completeness and verifies information. When you are finished with your game, give the card(s) to the next referee. The last referee of the day has the responsibility of delivering the game cards to Jack Folger (click for a map and address)

| Make sure that the date, time and field is marked. Indicate the half
time score and the final score. If it is a tie, write "tie" and list
both teams (so we can match up the cards for standings).
If a player is not at the field in time for the team check in, put a small dot next to the player's number so that you remember to check them in after they arrive. If the player does not arrive by half time or (if the coach indicates they will be really late), anytime before the end of the game, write absent next to the player's name.

| Take time to properly fill in
the back of the game card. Sportsman ship: Note that NORMAL is a
2...most teams will get a 2. If a coach, spectators or player(s) goes
beyond normal, give them a 3. Examples: Conduct of coaches: coach consistently positive to their players and to the opponents, or steps up to help referee control spectators...Coaches who argue, are not practicing PIE (positive, instructional, and encouraging) or with attitudes not in keeping with AYSO receive lower scores. Conduct of Spectators: positive and encouraging to both teams on the field. Any negative comments, poor sportsmanship might get a lower score. Appearance is almost always a 2. If shirts are out, it is normally a 1. Courtesy towards Referees: thanking the referees, offering water, being positive about a game, both during and after. Any red cards are automatic automatic team total score of zero. |

| List all disciplinary problems
that result in a caution or a send off. We need number, name, why the
card was issued and circumstances. Red cards require a separate report
(available under Downloads). Call the Referee Administrator the same day
because we must make sure that player does not attend the next game. Additional comments. We need descriptions and actions. We need the name of the individual (if it is the coach it is on the card, if it is a spectator and the coach is not a part of the problem, get the name from the coach) Be as specific as possible because we need to keep track of problem people and this is the best way to do it. Sign the card. Write LEGIBLY. If we can't read it, you don't get credit (and you want you credit...because there are recognitions and rewards for doing games). |
